WHAT IS PILATES?
Joseph Pilates invented the Pilates Method as a rehab program for injured people in the early part of the 20th century. Eventually realizing that the program is a great exercise, he incorporated the program into a series of mat and machine exercises to help balance the body, improve motion as well as strengthen, and promote mental and physical harmony.
Kay’s teaching style in Pilates embodies the training and methods of Classical Pilates, BASI Pilates and Eve Gentry’s dance-centric style. When teaching her clients, Kay’s exercises focuses on core strength, flexibility, stability and coordination of movement. Both on the Reformer and the Mat, her classes aim to strengthen the powerhouse and teach you to be aware of every muscle in the body through proper breathing and execution. Kay's hands-on approach guides each client safely through the machine and mat exercises dramatically transforming the way the body looks, feels and performs.
